ZAB (ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg GmbH) was founded in 2001 as a one-stop agency for support to SMEs and technology-intensive businesses that are contemplating investments in Brandenburg. The Agency supports companies with its contacts in the region and its expert knowledge of the business incentives developed by regional agencies, the German government and the European Union.
ZAB collaborates with the regional business promotion bureaus and the state investment bank (InvestitionsBank des Landes Brandenburg, ILB). Furthermore, the Agency assists you in selecting an appropriate location, hiring the skilled workforce you need, and obtaining loans, subsidies and permits. Local specialists are on hand at various locations in the region for specific advice closely tailored to your requirements.
ZAB also promotes technology by supporting individual R&D projects as well as business and scientific networks, and by providing expert advice to SMEs on innovation and patent issues. Last but not least, the Agency represents the State of Brandenburg at national and international trade fairs and business promotion events.
The ZAB agency is run jointly by the State of Brandenburg and the Berlin and Brandenburg Chambers of Commerce and Business Association (UVB). The agency has its headquarters in Potsdam and regional offices in Cottbus, Frankfurt/Oder, Eberswalde, Neuruppin and Potsdam. It works closely with the ILB bank and Brandenburg Capital GmbH. The Agency also markets the Berlin-Brandenburg region as an outstanding location for business and scientific enterprise in close collaboration with state business promotion bureaus in Brandenburg and Berlin. The two states also jointly market the future Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport (BBI) and surrounding properties. Last but not least, ZAB and Technologiestiftung Berlin develop the region’s innovation strategy.
